Late Strike Sinks Predators
19 Apr 2011

 Dromore Ladies 2 - 1 Predators

A late goal from Kerry Taggart sunk premiership team Predators. In the opening few moments of the match there was little opportunities for either side until the ball broke for a Predators player only a few yards out but her resulting shot was well saved by Laura Magowan. The next noteable chance once again fell to the opposition but with the net at her mercy she managed to hit it over the bar.

Just before half time a great ball by Deborah Douglas sent Louise Kelly through only for her shot to narrowly go wide of the far post. With it looking like it was going to be a stalemate at the break Dani Creaney's 25 yard shot was well saved just before the interval.

Within a few minutes of the second half kicking off Dromore took the lead after the impressive Deborah Douglas chipped the keeper from 30 yards out. With little between the side Dromore won a free kick deep into the Predators half but what happened next doesn not belong on a football pitch.

Following an altercation a Predators player was sent off and another was made to be subbed. Predators pushed on after this for a brief period with Laura Magowan pulling off a number of good saves before getting beat at her near post to make it 1 each.

Kerry Taggart came on after being an injury doubt and almost instantly scored but slightly overhit the ball when through. Kerry got the next opportunity of the game but hit wide whilst one on one with the keeper. It looked like their chance had gone but after a great through ball from Amanda Morton, Kerry Taggart took the opportunity and buried it into the bottom corner at the death to give Dromore a much deserved win.
