Another weekly instalment of captains questions is upon us. This time we speak to vice captain Jodie Ovens about the loss against Dundee City West and what the Ladies can do to bounce back in this weekends cup tie against Stenhousemuir.
Q: How does it feel for you to be the vice captain for the ladies this season?
A:"It’s always a privilege to be asked to be part of a leadership team, especially alongside Ellie. Ellie is a natural leader and captain so I am sure my role will be simple this season. Being one of the older players I am hoping to add some experience to the team and offer advice to the younger players. "
Q:What are the goals you would like the team to achieve this season and how do you think we can achieve them?
A:"On our best days I would say that we are title contenders and I think our goal this season should be at least a top 3 finish. We are a young energetic team bursting with talent and have a good coaching team behind us. I think we need to work hard in training, give 100% during games and be confident in our ability."
Q:Going into this Sunday’s first cup game against Stenhousemuir what do you think the team need to do to bounce back from the defeat against Dundee City West?
A:I can’t put my finger on what exactly went wrong in the Dundee City West game but I think a lapse of concentration when were ahead and lack of game time contributed. Each game we are taking away the positives and working hard in training to correct and improve on the negatives. I am confident we will do well this Sunday.
